I'm a single guy living in Westland, MI, on the western outskirts of Detroit. I'm the oldest of three children born to Cesare and Antonetta Sansotta, who came to the USA from Cimina', Italy. That's a small mountain town of less than 1,000 people in southern Italy, in the province of Reggio Calabria. It's across from the island of Sicily, around where the ball of the foot is. My brother is the middle guy, and my sister is the baby, who is married and has two children, who I love to spoil! I also have a pretty large extended family that mostly live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins!
I don't have a lot of hobbies, but I am very passionate about those I do have. My favorite would have to be genealogy. Take a look at my Genealogy page to see more about that. Getting into that also rekindled my interest in history and learning Italian. As a self-confessed computer geek, I obviously love to play around with computers and explore the internet. There's so much out there you can get lost for hours! I also like to play some computer games, but not those really violent ones so much. Mostly card games and some of the car simulators, which I have a blast playing with my nephew. Other stuff I like to do for fun include bowling, miniature golf, puzzles, listening to music and watching tv.
I'm a movie-holic! I could watch movies all night long. My favorite would have to be the Godfather trilogy, especially Part 2. I like all kinds of movies, except for gory horror flicks and the really "artsy" and foreign ones. I have begun watching more Italian movies though, now that I'm learning the language better. But I still need subtitles! =D
I like to listen to different kinds of music, but by far my favorite is classic rock. I love the bands I grew up listening to while in high school and college. Boston, Styx, Journey, Aerosmith, REO, Genesis and Phil Collins are some of my favorites, just naming some of the top of my head. I also like stuff like Guns 'N Roses, Motley Crue, and the other hair bands of the 80's. I've always had a special place in my heart for Elvis too, since I can remember listening to the radio as a kid. And like everyone, I do my own little immitation, Thank You Very Much! =D One year for Halloween I even rented a jumpsuit andbought a wig. That had to be one of the most fun Halloween's I ever had! I also like some of the "newer" country stuff, like Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. Lately I've started to listen to more Contemporary Christian music and have come to really enjoy a band called Apologetix, who do parodies of a lot of the rock music I like with bible based lyrics.
